Plain-language coverage of upgrades, supply, funding and governance, with every number linked to its source.
zcashupdates follows the things that change what a ZEC holder owns or can do: network upgrades, supply and issuance, the development funds (Zcash Community Grants and the coinholder fund), governance votes and wallet and node releases.
We explain each change in plain language, say when it happens and what, if anything, you need to do. Every figure links back to where it came from, so you can check it yourself.
zcashupdates is independent. It is not affiliated with, funded by or endorsed by the Zcash Foundation, Zcash Community Grants, or any company, wallet, exchange or project covered here.
zcashupdates is published pseudonymously. That is common in the Zcash community and fits a project about financial privacy. We ask to be judged on the record instead: sourced numbers, dated changes and public corrections.
People who work on zcashupdates may hold ZEC. We do not trade on anything before it is published, and we do not publish price targets or tell anyone to buy or sell.
If zcashupdates is ever paid by, or receives money from, anyone it covers, we will say so here and on every page that covers them.
How each number is produced is set out on the Methodology page.
