How to buy ZEC, safely.

The same steps work in any country.

Three steps

  1. Buy on a regulated exchange that legally serves your country and lists ZEC. Check on the exchange itself: Kraken, for example, has removed ZEC in India and the UAE and doesn't offer it in Australia.
  2. Withdraw to a wallet you control. Send a small test amount first, then the rest. Pick a wallet.
  3. Private from hereShield it. Most exchanges pay out to a transparent address, so shield the coins when they arrive. How to shield.

Selling on Binance later? Its ZEC deposit addresses start tex1 and only accept coins sent from transparent funds. Check that your wallet can send to a tex1 address first.

Only Gemini pays out to shielded addresses, and Gemini hasn't confirmed it.

ZEC trades on 46 exchanges (CoinGecko). For the big ones, this is whether you can withdraw straight to a shielded address.
